Festival of the Arts at Marin Lutheran – Brazzissimo!

 Our first offering, on September 5 th, was a resounding success. The concert was very well attended and the ensemble played with enthusiasm and style. It was peopled by three groups: those who knew the ensemble, those who responded to eye-catching publicity in the Independent Journal, and supporters from our congregation. Technical Director Rod Seeger ensured that everything from parking (love those signs!), to table set-up, to stagecraft went seamlessly; Publicist Karen Clinton produced the museum-quality poster and flyers and ensured that information on the concert was available in key publications; Box Office was organized and attended by Evangelism/Outreach chairperson Barbara Bischoff; “Green-room” hospitality was expertly provided by the able Phyllis Stahl; and a generous reception was organized by Carol Cunliffe, executed by Barbara Bischoff, Karen Anderson, Janet Foster, Ann Marymor, Wolfgang Hirdt, Marie Jacobs and Phyllis Stahl. And a special thanks to Bev Kamphoefner for her wise council.

Festival of the Arts at MLC – Cynthia Pepper, - a retrospective in film, dance and art

 On October 5 th at 4:00 PM we present an eclectic afternoon featuring the extravagantly talented Cynthia Pepper: filmmaker, choreographer, and printmaker. Selections from her Mill Valley Film Festival films will be shown, slides of her paintings will be viewed, and she will be interviewed on-stage by our own Karen Clinton! The evening will culminate in a world premiere of a dance choreographed by Pepper and danced by the lovely Kate Marcom to flute music played by Andrei Gorchov. Selections of Cynthia’s monotypes will be on sale in the narthex with all proceeds to benefit the Marin Lutheran Children’s Center. Tickets: $20 adults, $15 seniors, $10 students, children under six free.
