MARIN LUTHERAN CHURCH WOMEN

November, 2008

All women of Marin Lutheran Church are encouraged to be an active member of Marin Lutheran Church Women. There is always the opportunity for fellowship and learning.

This month’s Bible Study continues to be about Ruth and Naomi. This story is amazing and each session leaves you anxiously waiting for the next month’s portion. This month we learn whether Boaz and Ruth have a future together. Join us for:

Martha Circle on Wednesday, November 12 at 10:00am in the conference room, or Naomi/Dorcas Circle on Thursday, November 13 at 10:00am in the parish hall.

On Saturday, November 8 any interested women can meet on the street at church at 9:30am to go to San Rafael to work on the Marin Lutheran Church sponsored room renovation at the Family Emergency Shelter.

The fourth Thursday of the month women meet in the conference room from 10:00am until noon to knit for “Warm up America,” work on a quilt or work on their own project. Or simply come to socialize. If you can’t knit and want to learn, this is the right place for it. Thelma is a great teacher and she has had several students already. This month the gathering will be on the third Thursday, November 20 th. Thanksgiving claimed the fourth Thursday first.

Once a year at Thanksgiving time, the Marin Lutheran Church Women have a special “Thank Offering” which is given to the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to be used to put our faith into action in the worldwide community. We will let you know which Sunday will be designated for this. In the narthex prior to that Sunday there will be flyers regarding the work of WELCA and envelopes for your “Thank Offering.”

Please note: between services on Sunday, November 2, Marin Lutheran Church Women are holding their famous bake/craft sale. All funds from this sale are given as gifts within the community during the Christmas season. Any contributions of baked items, canned jams, handmade crafts and other treasures can be donated the morning of November 2 before the 8:30am service or delivered to the church office prior to November 2 nd.

We are looking forward to Maggie Harrington’s return. “Welcome back Maggie”
